Succulent Care Instructions
Watering:
Most succulents can be watered using either top watering or bottom watering methods. For bottom watering, place the planter in a container with water and allow it to soak until the soil is damp, which can take a couple of hours. Be sure to only water again when the soil is completely dry. To prevent rot, it's essential that the soil dries quickly between waterings.
Certain varieties are better suited for bottom watering, such as:
- Echeveria Rainbow
- Echeveria Lenore Dean
- Greenovias
Lighting:
Succulents love light! If planted indoors, place them near a window where they can get as much light as possible, or consider using grow lights to supplement. If planting outdoors, be sure to acclimate them to avoid sunburn and ensure the temperature stays above 40°F.
Some varieties need partial shade when grown outdoors, including:
- Echeveria Rainbow
- Echeveria Variegated Sunyan
- Echeveria Lenore Dean
- Greenovias
Dry Leaves:
It’s normal for succulents to have dried bottom leaves, as they are consumed by the plant during its growing cycle. New leaves will grow to replace them. If the dry leaves are fully dried out, you can gently pick them off. If they’re not fully dry, it’s best to leave them until they are.
